Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe is first Automotive supplier in Germany to receive ISO/SAE 21434 certificate

Langen - The increase of digitization and networking in today’s vehicles makes them more vulnerable to cyberattacks. Current automobiles offer attackers the potential opportunity to access the internal vehicle network via wireless interfaces. This can endanger the safety of occupants and other road users. The ISO/SAE 21434 "Road Vehicles – Cyber Security Engineering" is a regulation that aims to increase the safety of all electrical and electronic systems in the automotive sector over the entire life cycle of a vehicle.
In order to comply with this regulation, a comprehensive, targeted Cybersecurity Management System is required. TÜV NORD is the first certification body to be accredited by the German Accreditation Body DAkkS to certify Cybersecurity Management Systems according to ISO/SAE 21434. "In the globally active automotive industry, the demand for DAkkS-accredited certificates has become louder and louder. Manufacturers and suppliers want a uniform standard at the highest level," says Christian Woelk, Global Product Manager Automotive Cybersecurity at TÜV NORD.
TÜV Nord presented the first DAkkS-accredited certificate to Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe.
"This certification demonstrates Panasonic's innovation and commitment to cyber security and underlines the importance of security and reliability in the automotive industry," said Hassan Haidar, CTO of Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe.
"We are proud to be able to award Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe GmbH as the first company with this important certification," says Christian Woelk from TÜV NORD.
